I'm a fan of Facebook even with all it's faults but I have a major peeve about it today. Someone thought it was a good idea to post a video of a Chinese market where they were selling, killing, and cooking dogs. Why?
We know that many things go on in this world that we don't approve of but China is a very poor country and their customs often seem bizarre to us living comfortably in a less primitive country.
I couldn't find fault with a culture I don't know well and thought the video (the tiny bit I watched) didn't belong on Facebook.

Friends
I'm keeping my promise to myself not to come back to the park next year since I got pneumonia. It's either the long drive down or the constant interaction with my friends here that seems to make me sick and it has to stop. My old body can't handle it any more.
The pneumonia is gone but the after effects will be with me for a few months, I guess. I have to rest more often but being a naturally lazy person makes that okay. What I'll miss most of all are the fabulous people here in the park. A few live close enough to me at home that I can still see them occasionally but there are a few I'll probably never see again and that's so sad. They've been a huge part of my life for 20 years and given me much happiness to be around them.
Well, life does have it's peaks and valleys and the curves take us to new and hopefully happy places. I'll still come down to Florida for a shorter time next winter if I can and stay with Shelley at her house or the beach house so I'm very lucky. Life will change but it doesn't have to be a sad change, just a different direction.
