There was a time in the not too distant past when our children were sent off to school where we knew they'd be safe. Something has happened to our society where this is not the case anymore and I'm wondering where it will all end up.
Here in the States they are talking about arming the teachers with guns mainly because of the massacre in Sandy Hook where a crazed man shot and killed 20 little children and 6 teachers. What can be next? Arming the children??
So much money and resources have been wasted taking to trial and imprisoning pot smokers when it would have been better to use those resources to give life sentences to anyone committing a crime with a gun. Some U.S. communities are buying back weapons in order to take them off the streets but why not ban the manufacture of them to begin with? No household needs an assault rifle. No household needs a collection of guns which could be stolen by an intruder and then used to commit crimes.
I've recently lost my right to gamble at little internet casinos. The government acted quickly to close them down for some obscure reason but they can't get it together to ban the purchase of assault rifles. Where is the logic here?
The NRA seems to have the politicians by the short hairs.
