In a recent incident a rude lady not only banged into a friend of mine but, instead of apologizing, blasted both him and his wife with profanity. Not a big surprise in this world of murder and mayhem but it bothered me that a simple accident like this could so quickly turn nasty. My friend and his wife understandably retaliated with a few nasty words of their own but they might have been taking their lives in their hands by doing so. It just makes you wonder why a simple incident such as this should have rapidly escalated into grown people cursing each other out in public.
It's sort of a joke in the States that we Canadians can sometimes be too polite but I'll bet it saves us a load of embarrassing situations. Just apologize and move on. It makes it a lot less stressful to get through the day.
